An admin must toggle on Automatic Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3) for your institution from the Beta and Preview Features page.
Automatic Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3) integrates and synchronizes data between EchoVideo and your Learning Management System (LMS). This process helps streamline instructors' administrative workload and ensures that student performance data is accurate and up-to-date.
If your administrator has enabled it for your institution, you should see a Gradebook tab in the left sidebar when opening consolidated analytics for an LMS course.
Create a Gradebook Metric
- Navigate to the consolidated analytics page for the desired LMS course from either:
- The Analytics tab within EchoVideo.
- A course placement link within your LMS.
The Views tab for that course is displayed by default.
- Click Gradebook.
Metric and Sync History information is blank by default.
- Click + Add Metric.
The Add Metric window opens.
- Enter a unique name for Metric Name.
- From the Sync Schedule dropdown, select the frequency at which to sync selected data into the LMS. The default is Once, as shown in the figure below.
The scheduled option is based on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly cadence.
- Click the first box of the Date Range and enter a starting date, as shown in the figure above.
- Click the second box of the Date Range and enter an ending date, as shown in the figure above.
- Optionally, click the Calendar icon to open a calendar to set the starting and ending dates.
The number of occurrences will change based on the Sync Schedule and your chosen date range.

- From the Select Content dropdown, choose the content to sync.
- All Content and Future Content - This will sync data from all current content associated with the LMS course and any content added in the future.
- Current Content - This will only sync data from existing content associated with the LMS course. Any additional content added to your LMS later will not be included. This is the default.
-
Specific Content - This will only sync data from the selected content.
- When selected, the instructor must choose the audio, video, interactive media, or spherical video to get metrics. Search and Filter tools are available to narrow down all content associated with the LMS course.
- Click Next.
- Choose how the gradebook columns are created.
- All selected media syncs into one column - Enter a desired column name. When syncing all selected content into one column in the grade book, the data that will sync is an average across all students.
-
1 column is created for each selected media -
- By Content Name - The title of the media associated with the LMS course.
- By Date & Content Name - The date & title of the media associated with the LMS course.
- Choose what Calculation to sync.
- Percent Viewed - The percentage of the media each user has watched.

- Total Response Rate - The percentage of the polling questions each student responded to.
- Click Save.

Sync History

Filter the table view by All selected media (default), Correct Response Rate, Percent Viewed, or Total Response Rate from the dropdown.
Sync Now triggers every metric created to sync outside of its scheduled sync. The manual sync appears in the table as a new row when updated.
All columns in the Sync History table can be sorted by the arrows on the header.
