To configure the integration you need to work with Echo360's support team. Email support@echo360.com to let us know you want to configure the LMS integration. Provide the LMS type you would like to integrate with and the URL for your organization.
Installing the Plugin
Ensure that block / turningtech is not installed on the system and is not in the directory before installation.
- Log in as an administrator.
- Navigate to Site Administration > Plugins > Install Plugins.
- Drag and drop the turningptintegration_mod.zip into the ZIP package section.
Requests for the plugin can be sent to support@echo360.com.
- Select Show more.
- Click the dropdown next to Plugin type and select Activity module (mod).
- Select Install plugin from the ZIP file.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
The plugin is added to Moodle.
Configuring the Plugin
The plug-in does nothing when added to a course, so instructors should not be able to add the plug-in to their course. There is no automatic way to disable this function, it must be completed through the user interface once it is installed.
- Navigate to Site Administration.
- Select Plug-ins.
- Select Manage Activities.
- Locate TurningPoint Integration and click the Eye button to hide it from the instructor's view.
- Click Settings for TurningPoint Integration.
- Enter the LMS Client Id and LMS Client Secret, provided by Echo360, in the appropriate fields.
Installing the LTI
- Log in to Moodle as an Administrator.
- Navigate to Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > External tool > Manage tools.
- Under Manage tools > Add tool, click configure a tool manually.
- Click Expand all near the upper right corner.
- Enter EchoPoll Registration in the Tool name.
- Enter the Tool URL provided by Echo360.
- Enter the Consumer key provided by Echo360.
- Enter the Shared secret provided by Echo360.
- Enter the following Custom parameter:
lms_type=Moodle
- Change the Tool configuration usage setting to Show in activity chooser and as a preconfigured tool.
- Set Default Launch Container to New window.
- Click Show more and enter https://cdn.turningtechnologies.com/favicons/echopoll/ms-icon-310x310.png into the Icon URL and Secure icon URL fields.
- Change Share launcher's name with tool to Always.
- Change Share launcher's email with tool to Always.
- Select the box labeled Force SSL.
- Click Save changes.
Adding the LTI to a Course
- Log into Moodle with an administrator or instructor account and navigate to your course.
- Select Turn editing on from the upper-right corner.
- Select Add an activity or resource.
- Search for and select EchoPoll Registration.
- Enter EchoPoll Registration in the activity name field.
- Click save and return to course.
Once your Moodle Integration has been configured, instructors in your organization can link their individual EchoPoll accounts to their Moodle accounts and connect their courses.
