EchoPoll: Canvas Configuration Guide for Admins

To configure the integration you need to work with Echo360's support team. Email support@echo360.com to let us know you want to configure the LMS integration. Provide the LMS type you would like to integrate with, the ID, Key, and the URL for your organization.

Setting up Developer Keys

To connect directly to the EchoPoll, you must create a Developer Key in your Canvas instance.

  1. Log into Canvas with an Administrator Account.
  2. Click Admin in the left pane and select the appropriate account.
  3. Click Developer Keys from the left menu.
  4. Click + Developer Key and select API Key.
  5. Fill in the properties as follows:
    1. Key Name: EchoPoll
    2. Owner Email: support@echo360.com
    3. Redirect URIs: Enter the redirect URI for your region.
      • North / South America: https://oauth.turningtechnologies.com/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
      • Europe / Africa / Middle East: https://oauth.turningtechnologies.eu/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
      • Asia / Pacific: https://oauth.turningtechnologiessg.net/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
      • Australia: https://oauth.echopoll.au/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
    4. Redirect URI (legacy): Enter the redirect URI for your region.
      • North / South America: https://oauth.turningtechnologies.com/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
      • Europe / Africa / Middle East: https://oauth.turningtechnologies.eu/oauth-integration-server/authenticate 
      • Asia / Pacific: https://oauth.turningtechnologiessg.net/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
      • Australia: https://oauth.echopoll.au/oauth-integration-server/authenticate
    5. Icon URL (Optional): https://cdn.turningtechnologies.com/favicons/echopoll/ms-icon-310x310.png. 
      We support scoping the developer key. If you would like to scope the developer key, we will need access to the following API's:
      • Assignments
        • url:GET|/api/v1/courses/:course_id/assignments/:id
        • url:POST|/api/v1/courses/:course_id/assignments
        • url:PUT|/api/v1/courses/:course_id/assignments/:id
      • Courses
        • url:GET|/api/v1/courses
        • url:GET|/api/v1/courses/:id
        • url:GET|/api/v1/courses/:course_id/users
      • Progress
        • url:GET|/api/v1/progress/:id
      • Submissions
        • url:POST|/api/v1/courses/:course_id/assignments/:assignment_ id/submissions/update_grades
      • Users
        • url:GET|/api/v1/users/:user_id/profile
  6. Click Save.
  7. Ensure that the State is switched to On.

    Communicate the Developer Key’s ID and Key to your Echo360 support agent.

Configuring the LTI Link

  1. Log in to Canvas with an administrator account.
  2. Click Admin in the left pane and select the appropriate account.
  3. Click Settings from the left menu.
  4. Select the Apps tab.
  5. Click View App Configurations.
  6. Click + App.
  7. In the Configuration type dropdown, select By URL.
  8. Enter EchoPoll Registration in the name field.
  9. Enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided to you by Echo360 Support.
  10. Enter the Config URL provided to you by Echo360 Support.
  11. Click Submit.

Adding LTI to a Course

Once configured, the LTI link is available in the navigation pane of every course but disabled by default.

  1. Log into Canvas with an instructor or admin account.
  2. Select your course.
  3. Select Settings at the bottom of the left-hand pane.
  4. Select the Navigation tab.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the EchoPoll Registration link and drag it to the top section to enable it.
  6. Click Save.

Once your Canvas Integration has been configured, instructors in your organization can link their individual EchoPoll accounts to their Canvas accounts and connect their courses.
