NOTICE: EXAMVIEW END-OF-LIFE ANNOUNCEMENT
As of June 30, 2024, ExamView will officially reach its end of life.
Please be advised that after ExamView’s end-of-life date of June 30th, 2024, we will no longer be providing updates, security patches, or technical support for any version of ExamView. Our obligations to maintain or support ExamView will cease as of this date. Continued use of ExamView post end-of-life may expose you to increased security vulnerabilities, compatibility issues, and potentially reduced functionality. To avoid these risks and ensure uninterrupted service, we encourage migrating to EchoExam, which is designed to offer superior security, compatibility, and a range of advanced features that align with current technological standards. Previous versions of the ExamView Assessment Suite software installed to an ExamView folder in the root of your hard drive. However, ExamView version 8.1 installers follow the software industry install path and install into the Program Files\eInstruction\ folder on the PC and the Applications\eInstruction\ folder on the MAC. If you have an earlier version of ExamView on your computer and you install ExamView version 8.1 or newer, the application and data files will install to a different location than your previous titles.
- Log into ExamView Test Generator.
- Click Edit > Preferences > Files.
- Change the preferences to point to the new installation location.

- C:\Program Files\eInstruction\ExamView
- C:\Program Filesx86\eInstruction\ExamView
- Mac
- HD:\Applications\eInstruction\ExamView
- PC
Banks
- Click the folder to the right of Question Banks.
- Scroll down and double-click Program Files (x86). If you do not have a Program Files (x86) please double-click Program Files and continue to follow the steps.
- Scroll down and double-click eInstruction.
- Double-click ExamView.
- Click once on the Banks folder and click Select.
Tests
- Click the folder to the right of Tests.
- Scroll down and double-click Program Files (x86). If you do not have a Program Files (x86) please double-click Program Files and continue to follow the steps.
- Scroll down and double-click eInstruction.
- Double-click ExamView.
- Click once on the Tests folder and click Select.
LAN (online) Tests
- Click the folder to the right of LAN Tests.
- Scroll down and double-click Program Files (x86). If you do not have a Program Files (x86) please double-click Program Files and continue to follow the steps.
- Scroll down and double-click eInstruction.
- Double-click ExamView.
- Click once on the Tests folder and click Select.
- Click Save as Default and then OK.
You will also want to move your files from C:\ExamView\Banks TO C:\Program Files (x86)\eInstruction\ExamView\Banks.
