With PointSolutions Desktop, you can convert your ExamView content. Content only needs to be converted once and is saved as a Question List in PointSolutions Desktop. Once converted, you can create and print Question Lists in PointSolutions Desktop.
Convert ExamView Banks or Tests to Question Lists
- Open PointSolutions and sign into your account.
- Select the Content tab.
- Click the Content drop-down menu and select Convert ExamView / CPS File, as shown in the figure below.
- Locate the ExamView files to convert, single-click your textbook’s folder, and click Open.
By default, your ExamView content is stored in these paths on your computer:

Applications | eInstruction | ExamView Pro | Tests - Click OK to close the Import Summary.
PointSolutions imports the file and places it under the Content tab.
ExamView banks and tests are called Question Lists in the PointSolutions App.
Create a Question List From Converted Content
- Open PointSolutions and sign into your account.
- Select the Content tab.
- Click the Content drop-down menu, choose New > Question List.
The Question List Wizard window opens.
- Enter a name for the question list. Description is optional.
- Click From Existing Question Lists to create a new question list using existing content.
- Select the content for the new question list.
You can select one or multiple question lists. You can also select an entire folder; doing so selects all the question lists in that folder.
- Add Question Information: This option allows you to filter questions by question information before adding them to your list.

Add While Viewing: This option allows you to see the question stem before adding them to your list.

Add Randomly: PointSolutions randomly chooses the questions based on the number of each question type you have entered.
- Click Save.
The Question List Editor displays.
- Click Save and Close to save the Question List.
Print an ExamView Question List
- Open PointSolutions and sign into your account.
- Select the Content tab.
- Select a Question List.
- Click Edit Question List to view the question list.
- From the Question List Editor toolbar, click Print.
The Question List Print Options window displays.
If you have multiple test versions, select a version from the Version drop-down menu.
When you create multiple versions, you can only print a Teacher Copy of the Master Version. The Master Version is not testable.
- Select Student Copy, Teacher Copy or Answer Key.
- Student Copy – The student copy contains the questions and answer choices.
- Teacher Copy – The teacher copy contains the questions and answer choices along with the correct answers and question information (if applicable).
- Answer Key – The answer key contains the correct answers.
- Click Print to connect to your printer and print the desired number of copies.
Click Preview to view the file before printing or to save it as a PDF.
- Close the Question List Print Options window.
- Click Save and Close to return to the Question List Overview screen.
Add Questions to an Existing Question List
- Open PointSolutions and sign into your account.
- Select the Content tab.
- Select a Question List.
- Click Edit Question List to view the question list.
- Select Question / Question List Wizard from the menu bar across the top of the screen.
The Question List Wizard window opens.
- Select the content for the new question list.
You can select one or multiple question lists. You can also select an entire folder; doing so selects all the question lists in that folder.
