To configure the integration you must work with Echo360's support team. Email support@echo360.com to let us know you want to configure the LMS integration. Provide the LMS type you would like to integrate with and the URL for your organization.
Creating a Custom User
- Log into Blackboard as a System Administrator.
- Go to the System Admin tab.
- Under User, click Users.
- Select Create User.
- Enter Echo360 for first name and Integration for last name.
- Enter Echo360 for username.
- Create a secure password in the field provided.
- Select Submit.
Enabling REST API Integration
- Log into Blackboard as a System Administrator.
- Go to the System Admin tab.
- Under Integrations, click Rest API Integrations.
- Click Create Integration.
- Input the Application ID for your region.

- Use the browse function to locate and select the Echo360 user created in the previous section.
- Leave End User Access marked as Yes and change Authorized To Act As User to Yes.
- Click Submit.
Configuring the LTI Link
- Log into Blackboard as a System Administrator.
- Go to the System Admin tab.
- Locate the Integrations section and click the LTI Tool Providers link.
- Select Register LTI 1.1 Provider.
- In the Provider Domain field, enter the provider domain for your region.
- North / South America:
account.turningtechnologies.com
- Europe / Africa / Middle East:
account.turningtechnologies.eu
- Asia / Pacific:
account.turningtechnologiessg.net
- North / South America:
- Leave the Provider Domain Status as Approved.
Nothing goes into Secondary Hostnames.
- Change Default Configuration to Set Globally.
- Enter the Tool Provider Key provided by Echo360.
- Enter the Tool Provider Secret provided by Echo360.
Requests for the Tool Provider Key and Tool Provider Secret should be sent to support@echo360.com. Include your Blackboard URL with the request.
- Enter the following in Tool Provider Custom Parameters:
user_id=@X@user.id@X@
- To the right of Send User Data, select Send user data only over SSL.
- To the right of User Fields to Send, select Role in course, Name, and Email Address.
- Leave Allow Membership Service Access as no.
- Click Submit.
- Mouse over the Provider Domain configured in Step 5, click the drop-down arrow and select Manage Placements.
- Select Create Placement.
- In the Label field, enter PointSolutions Registration.
- In the Handle field, enterĀ PointSolutions Registration.
- Verify Yes is selected under Availability.
- For Type, select Course tool and Allow Student Access.
- Enable the Launch in New Window option.
Enable this prevents web browsers from treating LTI links as a pop-up and blocking it.
- To add the icon, go to https://cdn.turningtechnologies.com/images/store/SVC-PREMSUPP.png.
- Click Browse and navigate to where you saved the icon. Click Open.
- Enter the Tool Provider URL in the Tool Provider URL field provided by Echo360.
- Click Submit.
Once your Blackboard Integration has been configured, instructors in your organization can link their individual PointSolutions accounts to their Blackboard accounts and connect their courses.
