Working with Course Structure
What is a Course Structure?
Every knowbly™ course has a structure which is essentially a table of contents for the course. The Course Structure is comprised of a start page, modules, lessons, activity types, and assessment types.
- Start Page: This is the starting page for your course and is required for courses exported to an LMS. This page contains a list of the modules and lessons in a course for the user.
- Modules: Modules are used to group other pages together and must contain at least one other page. Note that modules do not contain course content.
- Lessons: Each lesson of a course is a page in the course. Lessons contain course content such as text blocks, image/video blocks, etc.
- Activities: An Activity Type is a single page with a title (page title) and a single widget block with an introduction (optional), a single activity type widget, and a caption (optional). Activities are interactive but do NOT provide an assessment score.
- Assessments: An Assessment Type is a single page with a title (page title) and a single widget block with an introduction (optional), a single assessment type widget, and a caption (optional). Assessments do provide an assessment score for the learner that is reported back for SCORM packages.

Copying a Module or Lesson

- Access the Course Structure and click on Edit.
- Hover over the module or lesson that you wish to copy. Click the Copy icon from the Actions Menu.

Collapsing a Course Structure
If you have a course with many modules and lessons, you may want to collapse modules in the course that you are not currently working in.
