As of June 30, 2024, ExamView will officially reach its end of life.
Please be advised that after ExamView’s end-of-life date of June 30th, 2024, we will no longer be providing updates, security patches, or technical support for any version of ExamView. Our obligations to maintain or support ExamView will cease as of this date. Continued use of ExamView post end-of-life may expose you to increased security vulnerabilities, compatibility issues, and potentially reduced functionality. You can reorder your questions in a test or question bank by dragging and dropping them to change their order.
Reorder Questions in a Question Bank Grouped by Question Type
- Click from the toolbar or click Question from the menu bar and select Reorder.
- Click on an item (individual question, question type group, or narrative group) and hold down the mouse button while you drag the item to the new location in the list. Or, press either Ctrl+▲ / Ctrl+▼(PC) or Cmd+▲ / Cmd+▼(Mac) to move the highlighted question.
Rules:- You can move a question only within the same question type.
- To move an entire question type group (e.g., multiple choice), click on the question type title and drag it to the desired location.
- You can move a group only to certain places in the list. The insertion bar appears as a dotted line to indicate where you may move the question group.
- Questions attached to a narrative can be moved only within the same narrative group.
- A question not a part of a narrative group cannot be moved into that group. Likewise, you cannot move a question linked to a narrative outside of the group.
- Matching questions can be moved only within the same matching group.
- Repeat Step 2 for each item to be moved.
- Click OK to update the current test.
If you do not see the Reorder button right click on the toolbar and select Customize.
Reorder Questions in a Question Bank With Mixed Question Types
- Click from the toolbar or click Question from the menu bar and select Reorder.
- Click on an item (individual question or narrative group) and hold down the mouse button while you drag the item to the new location in the list. Alternatively, press Ctrl+▲ / Ctrl+▼(PC) or Cmd+▲ / Cmd+▼(Mac) to move the highlighted question. Another option is to click the Sort button to sort by question criteria.
Rules:- Questions attached to a narrative can be moved only within the same narrative group.
- A question not a part of a narrative group cannot be moved into that group. Likewise, you cannot move a question linked to a narrative outside of the group.
- Matching questions can be moved only within the same matching group.
- Repeat Step 2 for each item to be moved.
