Who can do this?
Any instructor in a course can view and download the Polling tab and student responses to all polls in course-published media.
Every Echo360 course contains a Polling tab. This tab provides all of the student responses to the polls contained in all media published to the course. The tab also includes a Download Data button, that allows you to download a CSV file containing all student response data available to you in the tab.
Specifically, the download includes all of the polling questions in the course media along with every student response provided to each question. All polls in the download are grouped by media/lesson in which they reside.
Click on the course then click the Polling tab, identified in the below figure.
Clicking Download Data generates and downloads a CSV file containing each polling question in each piece of media in the course, along with each student's response.
The responses are grouped by lesson and then by poll. You can sort the data in a way that works for you: by student, by class name, etc.
Download Filename
The naming convention used for the file is as follows:
- course_polling_

Note that the section name is truncated so that the filename does not become unwieldy.
The filename for the course polling download will look similar to this:
- course_polling_webteam_testing_2021_wt_test_2021_principles_of_q_2021-02-10_09-54.csv
The first part of the filename will always be "course_polling" because the download is of the polling data for all media in the course.
The second part of the filename will always be the course and section identifiers.
The third part of the filename is the date and time (in local 24-hour time) the download was generated.
This naming convention is designed to help you know which Echo360 course and section the download pertains to, and WHEN the data is accurate to.
Data Fields in the Download
The download, like all downloads from Echo360 is a CSV file, which is a flat file where each row contains all the necessary information. This is why the media ID, media name, and lesson name are repeated on every row. However these fields (columns in a spreadsheet) are placed together at the front of the file, allowing you to scroll past them as needed or easily hide some or all of them if necessary.
Each row in the file corresponds to each student in the course with their response to each polling question in the media.
Each lesson is listed with the class date (month-day) so they can be easily discerned. If you are viewing the data in a spreadsheet program such as Excel, you can sort the data as needed, to review the responses in the manner you choose.
The table below lists all the fields in the download along with a description of what information may be included in each field.

Since many classes may have the same name, the date makes each class easier to discern in the list and allows you to easily sort the file by Lesson if you want to. |

| Correct | Whether the student's response was a correct response (for polling questions where a correct response is identified). This will be blank if there is no response or if the question did not have a correct response identified. |

Remember: Each download includes entries for ALL classes in the course that contain media with polls in them, either interactive media or a slide deck with polling slides in it.
