The Students tab of the Analytics page for a course provides detailed engagement information about each student in the course. Click Analytics, then select Students from the left.
The grid on the page has a row for each student and shows aggregated participation and engagement data across all classes in the course.
Clicking on a student row from the grid provides a popup window, showing that student's data for each class in the course. This is shown below.
Each class is listed showing this student's participation data for each class. Identified in the above figure are the paging buttons, for when the class list is too long to show in a single panel.
You can SORT the data in both the main or popup grid by clicking any of the column headers. Each click sorts the column in ascending or descending order or returns it to its original state. If the column is sorted, a small arrow appears next to the column name. This can be seen in the Weighted Engagement column in the above figure; the down-arrow indicates the column is sorted in descending order.
When you are finished viewing the data for a single student, click Close to return to the main grid.
You can export the Student data shown (along with other fields) for reviewing in detail offline. The student export provides rolled-up section data for each student as well as individual class data.
See Definitions of Analytics Data Metrics for detailed definitions of each of the data fields/metrics provided.
This data is updated throughout the day, at least hourly but typically a few times an hour. So while student actions may not show up immediately, if you are waiting for student data to update, you should not have to wait long.
Analytics for LIVE classes - Viewing data for Live Streamed Classes is only gathered from Universal Capture devices and is a little different than for VOD classes in some areas. See the following sections of the Definitions of Analytics Data Metrics page for more details: Attendance Percentage, Video View, and Video View %.
Missing Live Data? As mentioned in the above note, analytics data is only gathered from Live Streamed Classes performed on Universal Capture devices (Pro, Pod, or UC software installations). If you believe you are missing analytics, this is most likely the culprit. No analytics data is gathered from Live Streamed Classes done on legacy SCHDs.
